About Terra Sol

Terra Sol is a Brazilian-inspired skincare brand founded by Mariana. We make clean, tallow-based balms with real botanicals sourced from Brazil — no synthetic filters, no fillers, nothing you can't pronounce.

Balm do Sol is our first product. A skin balm made with grass-fed tallow, four Brazilian botanicals, and non-nano zinc oxide for mineral barrier support. Designed to hydrate deeply, protect naturally, and feel good in warm weather.

Balm do Sol is not an FDA-rated sunscreen and makes no SPF claim. It contains non-nano zinc oxide, a mineral that has historically supported the skin's natural barrier — but it is not a replacement for sunscreen if you need rated SPF protection.

Yes. Every ingredient is either naturally sourced or naturally derived. No parabens. No synthetic fragrance. No oxybenzone. No phenoxyethanol. Just the real thing.

The Formula

Grass-fed tallow is bioidentical to your skin's own lipid structure — one of the few fats that actually penetrates the barrier instead of sitting on top of it. Used for centuries, before modern skincare made things complicated.

The four key botanicals — Cupuaçu Butter, Buriti Oil, Maracujá Oil, and Babassu Starch — are sourced from Brazil's Amazon and Cerrado regions. They've been used by Brazilian women for generations and give Balm do Sol its golden colour, light texture, and deep hydration.

Unlikely. Tallow has a fatty acid profile very similar to the sebum your skin already produces. Most people find it non-comedogenic and well-tolerated. If you have very oily or acne-prone skin, patch test first.

No. Babassu Starch acts as a natural mattifier and Maracujá Oil is lightweight and fast-absorbing. The formula is built to feel good in heat and humidity — not heavy, not oily.

How to Use It

Yes. It's formulated for both face and body. Many customers use it as a daily moisturiser, an after-sun balm, or even a lip treatment.

The ingredients are clean and simple — no synthetic chemicals or fragrance. That said, always check with a paediatrician if you have concerns, and we recommend patch testing on little ones first.

A little goes a long way. Start with a pea-sized amount for the face and warm it between your fingers before applying. It melts into skin quickly.

Ingredients & Sourcing

Our tallow is sourced from grass-fed cattle in the USA — raised on open pasture without hormones or antibiotics.

All four botanicals come from Brazil — the Amazon rainforest and the Cerrado savannah. We source from suppliers who respect the land and the communities around it.

Yes. Balm do Sol comes in a glass jar with a metal lid — no plastic. Minimal by design.

Orders & Shipping

We currently ship within the United States. International shipping is coming — join our email list to be the first to know.

Orders are processed within 1–3 business days. Standard shipping typically arrives within 3–7 business days after that.

We want you to love it. If something isn't right, reach out within 30 days of delivery and we'll make it right. Because our products are applied to skin, we can't accept returns of opened items — but we'll work with you.

Storage & Shelf Life

Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. The balm is stable at room temperature but may soften in heat — that's normal and doesn't affect the formula. Keep the lid on tight.

Balm do Sol has a shelf life of approximately 12–18 months. Our natural preservative — Leuconostoc (Radish Root Ferment Filtrate) — handles that without any synthetics.
